(mis-)Adventures of a Filipina in Zürich, Switzerland
When I first arrived in Zürich, I always went to Suan Long when I needed an asian food fix. Suan Long is probably the most visible Chinese restaurant in Zürich. They have branches everywhere. I stopped going after a year or so, I don't know why. Yesterday, we tried Suan Long again because I was craving for dimsum. Yes, it's true, they serve dimsum in the Enge and the Langstrasse branches. In the Langstrasse branch, we decided to drown ourselves in dimsum Zürich style (meaning we ordered 4 different kinds and felt decadent). They were not the best dimsum I have tried but it fixed my cravings. Suan Long didn't offer much variety, about 5-6 items only but it was good enough for me because they have the char sui bao! The best thing was the food was cheap. We payed 5.50 chf for 3 pieces of dimsum, 19 chf for a shrimp course and 17 chf for the beef course. The servings were reasonable. So, the place is quite good value. The food itself was on the greasy side but not annoying so. All in all, we had a good meal.
